Leysin is a commune in Switzerland in the canton of Vaud, located in the district of Aigle. It is a sunny alpine resort village at the eastern end of Lake Geneva in close proximity to Montreux, Lausanne and Geneva. In previous time it was known for its sanatoriums for tuberculosis, now, however, it is a destination for year-round mountain sport and recreation.
Leysin is situated at an altitude of 1263 m. The commune can be accessed by road or the Aigle-Leysin train (c. 35 minutes). Trains depart hourly. Leysin offers 3 stops (stations).
